Bird Man Mel “In Your Backyard TV Segment”

Lights, camera, action!  Penguin Productions, a contract TV production company, recently visited Mexico, MO to film five new “In Your Backyard with Bird Man Mel” segments of the “Making Better Animals” TV Show on RFD-TV.  Lynn Smith of Penguin commented, “We had a great day working with Mel Toellner (alias Bird Man Mel) filming five new segments for the show, which included segments on:  Identifying Birds in Your Backyard; Using Water to Attract the Birds You Want; and How to Hang Bird Feeders in Your Yard, Deck, or In Windows.  Tips on Keeping Feeders and Baths Clean and Safe, and a segment on the newest “Lures” to Attract the Birds You Want to Your Yard, rounded out the day of filming.”

Mel ToellnerBird Man Mel commented, “Like all of the other segments, I was pleased we were able to film the five new segments at our home or business.  Viewers can envision how our suggestions will work in their yard.” Over a dozen past Bird Man Mel segments, including How to Attract Hummingbirds, Bluebirds, Cardinals, Purple Martins, and More can be viewed at birdmanmel.com.  Continuous looped copies of all combinations of the videos are available for in-store playing, as well as Tip Sheets customized with a local store’s own contact information.

Toellner adds, “It’s evident in these segments that helping people enjoy backyard birding is a passion with me, not just a business.  It is however, our hope that these segments will help drive consumers to the stores run by family ownership that my companies service.  It is for this reason, that none of the products I recommend are sold at Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc.  It’s our goal that when consumers go to songbirdessentials.com and utilize our store locator, they’ll find someone that will not only provide them products, but also knowledge on how to enjoy the world of nature around us!”  The show “Making Better Animals” on RFD-TV is on Dish Network channel 23 and Direct TV channel 345, as well as on most Cable networks.

Mel Toellner and his wife Bev own and operate Songbird Station and Gold Crest Distributing at 1600 Bassford Drive in Mexico as well as a larger retail store at 2010 Chapel Plaza Drive in Columbia, MO.  Local contact number is 573-582-0601.
